Demetrius
Chapin-Rienzo, Advisory Board Member
Demetrius
is in the final year of a joint-degree program in law and public
policy. He spent his first two years at Boalt Hall where he took
a great interest in revitalizing the Coalition For Diversity,
a student group working toward a more diverse faculty and student
body. While at Boalt, he served as vice-president of the Student
Association and began working with EJS in 2001 while clerking
at the Lawyers' Committee for Civil Rights.
Demetrius is currently attending University of California at Los
Angeles where he is finishing up a Public Policy Master's degree
with a concentration in urban poverty. He was a panelist at NYU's
"Strategizing Diversity" conference and EJS' inaugural
conference at Harvard in the spring of 2002.
Demetrius
continues to serve as the student representative on the EJS Advisory
Board and hopes to establish a national network of progressive
and pro-diversity law students. He received his B.A. in Sociology
from the University of California at San Diego in 1999.
