Roberto
Vargas serves the Equal Justice Society as its strategic planning
consultant and facilitator. Dr. Vargas brings to the EJS over
25 years experience in advocacy, organizational problem-solving,
planning, and human development; and additional experience in
advising, coaching, and convening activists and leaders of progressive
advocacy organizations. He chooses to work with EJS to support
its commitment to advance the Movement for Progressive Law.
Dr. Vargas is Principal Consultant to New World Associates and
is nationally recognized for his talent in group facilitation
and leadership training. Also a futurist, therapist and university
educator Dr. Vargas provides planning and team-building consultation
to groups throughout the United States, Canada and Sweden. His
clients include community service agencies, corporations, education
organizations and reservations. His passion is to support progressive
individuals and organizations to be their best and make their
contribution to advancing a healthier society. In his work he
often draws upon his experience as Chicano ceremony leader to
create opportunities for clients to integrate proactive planning
with personal, cultural and spiritual development.
Dr. Vargas is author of several publications on community learning
and leadership development, and holds a Doctorate degree in Public
Health and Masters degree in Social Work from the University of
California, Berkeley.
