Uploaded: Wednesday, February 2, 2005, 11:08 AM

Stanford University will be the site of a forum Feb. 8 on the state of the black community in America. The forum will be hosted by the Real News, Stanford’s oldest African American student publication.

This year is the 50th anniversary of the landmark Brown v. Board of Education Supreme Court case that led to school desegregation. The forum will attempt to answer the question “How far has the African American community progressed?”

Participants in the forum include Charles Ogletree, a Harvard University professor; Rick Banks, a Stanford law professor; Lucius Barker, a Stanford political science professor emeritus; Eva Patterson, director of the Equal Justice Society; William McNeil, managing attorney of the Employment Law Center in San Francisco, and Yetunde Reeves, a teacher at McClymonds High School in Oakland.

The forum will be 7-9 p.m. Feb. 8 in Room 190 of Stanford Law School.
