Robert Westley

Robert Westley is a Professor Law at Tulane Law School. He received his B.A. in philosophy from Northwestern University in 1984, graduated from Boalt Hall School of Law in 1992, and received his Ph.D. in philosophy from Yale University in 1993. The title of his dissertation is, "Fourteenth Amendment Jurisprudence: Race and the Rights of Groups."

Professor Westley has taught at Tulane Law School since 1995. He teaches Constitutional law, professional responsibility, transnational legal practice, criminal procedure, and seminars on critical race theory and law and literature. He is a former member of the board of governors Society of American Law Teachers (SALT), and currently serves on the boards of the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) of Louisiana and LatCrit, Inc.

In addition to articles on the topic of student diversity movements and the legal history of racial passing, Professor Westley is the author of "Many Billions Gone: Is it Time to Reconsider the Case for Black Reparations?" XL Boston College Law Review 429 (1998).
