Eva Paterson and other civil rights advocates founded EJS a decade ago to reverse an imbalance in our courts and in the hearts and minds of the public, where too many believe that discrimination no longer exists.

We've charted a roadmap to litigation in our efforts to reclaim our Constitutional protections against discrimination provided by the 14th Amendment. We're moving boldly this year to tackle racial disparities in the application of the death penalty and in the distribution of municipal services.
